History and Story
Hailing from the highly competitive Yamagata prefecture Mitobe sake brewery has been devoted to quality Junmai sake production for five generations. A stout devotion traditional production methods and the utilization of mineral rich water from the Uwa mountains give the Yamagata Masamune brand its characteristic sword-like sharp flavor and expression. In 2004 Mitobe sake brewery began growing their owns sake rice in Yamagata, furthering their dedication to the region and quality brewing ingredients.
